Pros

Direct line management was always supportive, and colleagues were friendly and helpful. A mature business with systems and processes in place, including some competitive benefits such as generous matched pension contributions, healthcare and income protection. Flexible working within the business unit I was part of.

Cons

A focus on performance related pay which was set aside when it suited the business, and led to multiple years of pay stagnation leading to many departures. Total lack of flexibility or agility, which does not work in the field of technology. No funded training of any kind provided to any colleagues in my business unit over multiple years. A big focus on macro economics and stock performance that did not translate into meaningful success for employees, or the share price. While I appreciate there are longer term plans afoot, it was clear that loyalty was not being, and would never be rewarded. A good local culture tainted by poor senior management direction.

Pros

A paycheck, that's the only "pro" working here.

Cons

No progression, no pay reviews, no pay increases in years, 9+ employees have left and not been replaced. SLA's not reflective of the change in business support. Since a massive takeover numerous people are losing their jobs.
