Pros

Beautiful office in Downtown Coral Gables, FL, Telecommute opportunities, Making a difference in people's lives.

Cons

There is no room for growth unless you want to become a suprvisor which NO ONE wants to be. Be prepared to be over worked and under paid. The management will constantly stress you about meeting your numbers and goals but will do little to nothing to help you. They don't ever like to admit the part they play in low sales and goals not being met. There is ZERO lack of motivation from most team leads. They hate their jobs just as much as the agents. Good people have quit or been fired because management lacks the ability to see your worth. You are only as good as your last good month.Turn over is massive. Your job will be on the line and they will threaten to fire you every month if you don't meet your goal. If you have a family this is not the company for you. They have no concept of work/home life balance. They only want young sales people that don't really know their worth, want to party and have drinks with them after spending all day in the office and virtually make hear.com their life! They will promise you the world and feed you good leads in all territories while you are a rookie and then once you get put on a real team you will have to work all day everyday to meet the goals given to you unless you are one of the "favorite" agents that has a very "personal relationship" with one of the owners and basically gets fed sales at the end of every month. The leads are horrible. You will spend the majority of your time calling people that are on Medicaid or Medicare, a fixed income and can't afford hearing aids. And you will call the same leads every hour to the point of harrassement and potential buyers no longer wanting to deal with you because of harrassement. Constant anxiety on a daily basis trying to meet numbers as well as stay on top of accountings job, your supervisors job, the partner managers job, HR's job, Marketing's job, the partners manager's job and the shipping departments job. The whole process is unstructured and un coordinated. Everyone is all over the place and blames each other. No accountability is held. The partner providers generally don't like working with hear.com and will steal sales from you as much as they can with little to no repercussions. They make you sign a waiver stating they are not liable for any injury or incident up to including death if something happens to you on the job or at their event. And there in no workmans comp. Each month it goes further and further down the hill. We went from almost 70 gents to about 35 within the last 3 months so you do the math. Unpaid 12 weeks FMLA, 12 weeks paid FMLA for maternity leave only at 50%! Horrible. 10 sick days and then the rest are unpaid. And "unlimited vacation" that is based on performance. A 401K that they don't match and expensive health insurance. If you are a successful sales executive at the top of your game hear.com will be a downgrade to your career. Don't believe the hype. All of these amazing reviews you see on here are not the majority and are artificial. And if you try and use your voice they will deem you as "negative" and will put an X on your back.

Thank you for the extensive review. We know it took valuable time to write this review and we appreciate all feedback, as this helps to improve the opportunity for others. Hear.com believes the employees are the heart and soul of our company and we are taking the steps to improve our employees experience every day. We do provide different roads into which each individual can develop, apart from becoming a supervisor. People can advance to truly shaping the future of hear.com in our innovation team or advance in sharing their knowledge with others as experts for modules and topics along the customer's journey. We are also excited to offer courses in Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint as well as TED talk discussions to further help everyone grow beyond. As we openly share with everyone, a team member will never be let go due to lack of performance alone. We know that everyone can have bad months and it is our most inner drive to support our team members to get back on track. Another great part of the Hear.com opportunity is the option for reduced cost medical insurance as well as unlimited vacation granted after the first 90 days. Not to mention the family events outside of work. Everyone can enjoy a simple 5 day, 40-hour work week to allow that important time to recharge with our families. We are sorry that you felt that our team size decreased, in fact, we are more people in the sales team than ever before. When reading through the mentioned waiver, you will have realized that it is with regards to the consumption of alcoholic beverages within our facilities or at our events. Also, we are covered by a very good workers comp plan, so we don’t know where the misunderstandings are coming from. While we are striving to improve things for every team member within the hear.com family, we hope that you will find what you are looking for and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

there are some wonderful coworkers there where you can make lasting friendships. However, with the poor management and hostile work environment, the good people are moving onto the careers they deserve and slowly dwindling.

Cons

Please be sure to read every poor review carefully, as I can say every single one is true. If you are hired as a sales consultant, you will not be making commission until your 4th month. Not only that, but the company pockets your first five sales each month. It is only on your fifth sale you will begin to earn commission each month. However, you will be deducted for every return, whether you made money on that sale or not. The trainers will be absolutely no help to you and only criticize that you are not on the phones enough. Hear.com believes in the power of numbers, the more people they hire the more money the company will make. This causes many good employees to fall through the cracks. If you are not someone who does well going into a job completely unprepared and offered no help, while also being criticized for not making sales your first two weeks, this is not the place for you. Since hear.com hires sales classes in large numbers, it is designed to weed people out quickly, despite preaching their “family” like culture. You will be required to take credit cards over the phone, lie to customers as to why you need it, and be told to physically write the credit card down on paper. The company will always take the side of the partner providers in cases where the providers steal your sales, which happens quite frequently. You will then be criticized that you aren’t working hard enough. There is no clock in/clock out system. This way they can require employees work over time without having to pay them. They do “suggest” you work longer hours, through lunch, and require you to work every other Saturday. For functional roles, you will be extremely overworked and underpaid. The company does not believe in the power of numbers in these positions, but would rather assign multiple roles to one person while paying them next to nothing bc they have the privilege of working for such a great company “culture”. There is no career path for any functional roles and no time line for when you will be given a raise. This is because, since it is a German company, all the major roles are reserved for people brought over from Berlin. This company is an HR nightmare. Mostly because they do not believe in having an HR team. This causes managers to become power hungry, abuse their power, and leaving the employees with nowhere to go but the ceo, who will most likely inform then that they are the problem.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear your experience did not match your expectations. At hear.com, one of our core principles is the training and development of our employees. We invest a lot of time and resources for training to ensure our employees have all the tools needed to be set up for success. We also have a structured commission set up and while in training you have the potential to earn commission while building your sales pipeline. We also always prioritize the customer first as this is one our core principles. This is why we make sure to explain to the customer that the credit card is needed to secure their appointment. At hear.com, we thrive on positivity and with that as another one of our core principles, we offer the growth and income potential as unlimited to our Functional employees. As this still did not meet your expectations, we would like to learn more on how we can improve. Please reach out to us regarding your feedback at peopleadmin@hear.com. Sincerely, The hear.com People Team

Unethical, at best.

Pros

They pay a salary and a commission.

Cons

- Management does not work in the frontline operation; they manage from a top down style, versus bottom up. - Management (pardon the informality) talks out of both sides of their mouths, regarding strategy, policy and procedure. For example, the most important job responsibility is qualifying appointments, yet in the same breath they reprimand for not setting enough appointments - General understanding of business. This company does not understand the fundamentals of marketing, cash flow, strategy, and retention (customer/employee). among a myriad of others. - Does not follow standard code of ethics. To name a few examples: Management favors certain consultants and will push extra sales to those consultants, management advises to not disclose important information to customers and team leads publicly shame current and past employees for various reasons. - Call, email and text program has been described as harassment, by several clients... management does not care. Required to call customers on weekends at early hours and many times call them 3 times within an eight hour shift. - Management sends out emails, internally, asking employees to only post positive reviews on sites, such as this one, to up their reputation. - Company is sold as a "start-up, small business minded" company, in which involvement is appreciated and encouraged. This company is exactly the opposite. They are demanding, uneducated on current market trends, quick to replace and eager to defend their ignorance.
