Pros

Offer benefits, work at home

Cons

Since buyout of Amphion (which was a great company), management has gone down hill. No one knows what they are doing. There is no communication with employees. Everything is very secretive. You get the most minimal amount of communication possible only after multiple people bombard them with emails. The old adage is true: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Pros

I have a job that I can do from home.

Cons

Low pay, no concern for employees. No recognition for a job well done. No benefits for part-timers. I worked for a great little company that got bought out by iMedX. Right before we were bought out I had just signed up for my 401K and had plenty of work. All of sudden with no warning we were informed that we were now part of iMedX and everything changed overnight. for the worse. Now it seems the company is over-hiring at the same time we are losing accounts. They want to keep the customer satisfied but don't care about the employees. It's no skin off their backs if the employees run out of work. It's all about keeping the clients happy and screwing the employees over.

Pros

None really. There is nothing to list here other than the fact I work at home.

Cons

Too many to list -- Amphion sold out on us all when they sold to Imedx. No incentive, no increased pay to those of us in the trenches, even though upper management gets more money the more 'associates' they "separate " from (a.k.a. 'fire'). They keep pushing for everyone to do MORE, MORE, MORE and NO overtime! The only reason I'm still here is because they haven't found reason to "separate" me from their employment and working at home is what I do and I haven't found another transcription company that doesn't insist on new employees working nights and weekends. My 25+ year career that I was so proud of is basically dead. With the advent of pushing 'voice recognition' and allowing 'the machine' to dictate the rules, and companies promising the world to clients but nothing to the people actually doing the work, not to mention taking the pride I have in being very knowledgeable in grammar, spelling and proper sentence structure, as well as VAST knowledge of medical terminology, this job is basically dumbed down to the point that if monkeys could read and run a computer faster than the speed of light and understand ESL dictators, we human MTS wouldn't have jobs at all in this business.
