Our Social Mobility Pillar hosted the first in-person event in the Lantern this month, and it was a true celebration of the power of social mobility and the role it plays in shaping a more inclusive and diverse future - especially in leadership. The event which was hosted by the incredible Nikki chapman and saw heartfelt contributions from our senior leadership team including Simon Myciunka, Anne-Marie Lavan, Paul Sylvester and the phenomenal Neev Spencer. Thank you all so much for sharing your personal journeys and insights during the powerful discussion “Is Social Mobility a Superpower in Leadership?”, The event also featured inspiring presentations including: 🌟Highlights of the incredible work being done across our Bauer network 🌟The transformative work of Brixton Finishing School and its partnership with Bauer Media Audio. 🌟Bauer Media Group - Academy, who gave us an insight into all the fabulous work that is going on with our internship programmes. 🌿 Thrive Team Shoutout! 🌿 In case you didn’t know, Thrive is our wellbeing programme at Bauer Media Group – created to support both the physical and mental health of our people and help make this a great place to do great work. Thrive runs events all year round, both virtually and in-person, and back in June we pulled off an incredible Thrive Week full of activities, workshops, and moments to recharge. A couple of weeks ago, we as a group finally managed to get together from across the country for a well-earned celebratory lunch – and these are just a few of the brilliant faces behind it all (the rest managed to dodge the camera 📸). It’s been a couple of months since we were last able to get together, but yesterday, members of Bauer Media Group’s Race Equality Pillar came together for the latest social mixer - a special blend of social connection, purposeful discussion, and maybe a bubble or two. 🥂 The purpose of this meet-up was to share ideas and aspirations for how we’d like to celebrate this year’s Black History Month (celebrated in October here in the UK), ensuring it’s not just a date in the calendar but a meaningful opportunity to educate, inspire, and amplify voices. Change doesn’t happen by accident - it’s driven by people who care, who listen, and who take action. Leading change is about courage, collaboration, and the belief that together, we can create a more equitable workplace.
Here at Bauer Media, we know the power of teamwork - whether we're pitching ideas in the boardroom or swinging for the fences on the rounders field. This week, our colleagues in Peterborough came together once again for the Annual ‘Ben Stamp’ Rounders Tournament - a tradition that began in 2022, honouring our much-missed friend and colleague. What began in 2022 as a friendly match between two finance teams, it has grown into the Media House wide celebration of connection, camaraderie, and community. It’s the kind of day that reminds us why we love what we do - and who we get to do it with. Whether we’re collaborating on major campaigns or rounding the bases in a game of rounders, we’re united by a culture that values people, purpose, and passion.
