Wishing all our Correla colleagues, customers and friends a happy Chinese New Year and good health! This year is the Year of the Tiger. Different characteristics are assigned to each animal, and this is traditionally used to determine fortune. The animals are also thought to represent the personalities of people born that year.
What a great way to start our week with a fantastic and insightful webinar from Paul McGregor from Everymind at Work on building personal Resilience. Thank you Paul for sharing some simple but highly effective practical tools that our people can integrate into their every day to help build resilience.
On Friday, we held our Christmas celebration, Jingle and Mingle. It was moved online at the last minute, but it was still full of Christmas cheer, lots of laughter and fabulous bakes and jumpers! During the afternoon, we raised over £1000 for Birmingham Children's Hospital. We held a scavenger hunt, Christmas quiz, Christmas jumper competition and a Christmas baking competition which would have earned many Paul Hollywood handshakes.
Yesterday, 9 of our female leaders spent time with the Year 10s at Saltley Academy, supporting the interview panels as part of their early careers/work experience preparation. We were very pleased to provide an insight into the world of work (especially for young girls) at this crucial stage of academic life.
We are really pleased to announce that we have signed up to the West Midlands Combined Authority Net Zero Business Pledge. Correla remains committed to being Net-Zero by 2025, and by making this pledge demonstrates how Correla will support efforts to achieve the broader net-zero target. We strive to go above and beyond our moral, legal and ethical duty by carving the way for future generations to come and protecting our environment. Correla will champion this pledge by showcasing its commitment and delivering its year on year promises. Once we achieve our goal, we will continue to champion and share our successes, supporting others to meet their goals to help to keep 1.5°C alive.
Over the last 18 months, we have all seen demand for GP services grow exponentially. At Correla we are always looking at our people products and how we can ensure we provide a great experience to our people, to allow them to concentrate on our customers. To that end, today we entered into a partnership with Westfield Health and launched a new product, DoctorLine. This will give our people and their families, 24/7 access to a GP, from anywhere in the world. We all know how busy life can be, which is why appointments are available at flexible times to suit our people and their individual family needs After all, we don't set hours for our people, so why would we set hours for their GP appointments?
To all our customers, colleagues and friends, hope you have a blessed, healthy and prosperous Diwali.

We are committed to building a truly inclusive and diverse culture here at Correla where all our people can thrive.
This week is National Work Life Week, organised by Working Families. At Correla, we are proud to support our working parents and carers through a number of principles, some of which are: Locate for your day - We want our people to enjoy a rewarding work life without compromising family commitments or general wellbeing. We prefer informal, agile working, with flexible start and end times, and the freedom to work where best suits our people. Equal Family Leave - All families are different. That is why we have removed maternity, partner and adoption leave and replaced it with 26 weeks paid Parent Leave for any of our people, regardless of gender. This includes birth, adoption, fostering and surrogacy. Carers - We know that some of our people balance their work with caring responsibilities, so we offer dedicated flexibility and support to our carers Returning Parents - We recognise the support required by a returning parent can be quite unique and having someone like a buddy who has gone through a similar experience is crucial to helping that person settle back into work successfully
We are delighted to share that Correla has signed up as a partner of the Women in Technology Mentoring Programme. We firmly believe that Mentoring is one of the key enablers to developing, progressing and retaining talent throughout an organisation; particularly where there is under-representation. This programme forms part of our wider Mentoring Offering where we are also offering traditional 121 mentoring, reverse and group mentoring."
