We are excited to be short-listed as a finalist for ”Best Annual Report (small cap)” at the IR Magazine Awards – Europe 2023. This recognises our Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2022 as one of the best across Europe! The Annual Report is a huge task each year and this nomination is a testament to those who work incredibly hard to create it. Well done to the Finance, Marketing and Sustainability teams, and anyone else who contributed in any way; it really is a team effort. Stefan Allanson, Chief Financial Officer said: “I am basking in the glory of my team having been shortlisted for this year’s European IR Magazine Award for “Best Annual Report”. #GleesonHomes #TeamEffort
As 2022 comes to an end, we reflect back on the phenomenal year we've had, helping so many customers on their home buying journey. We are proud to make homeownership achievable for those on low to mid incomes with our affordable, quality homes and will continue to do so in 2023 and beyond. A huge thank you to all of our colleagues, suppliers and subcontractors for all their constant hard work throughout the year. At Gleeson, our vision is #BuildingHomes and #ChangingLives, with our sustainability strategy built around our relationships with communities, people and the environment. All of this is underpinned by our values and culture. The construction industry is facing real challenges in being truly sustainable. At Gleeson we recognise that many of these challenges can be addressed through improved collaboration across our supply chain. Therefore, we are proud to become a partner of Supply Chain Sustainability School which gives us the tools to embed our sustainability ambitions throughout our supply chain to ensure we are working congruently towards shared goals across the built environment.
This week is Mental Health Awareness week, a week that gives opportunity for the whole of the UK to focus on achieving good mental health and how we can help others with their mental health. At Gleeson we are proud encourage open conversations about mental health, continuing to raise awareness and remove stigma. One in four people struggle with their mental health so no one is alone with what they may be going through. To help colleagues we have our Employee Assistance Programme, which offers 24 hour support, is completely free, confidential and available for all Gleeson employees. We have trained 25 Mental Health First Aiders, with more colleagues due to be trained this year and we have lots of support services and contact details on our Wellbeing Toolkit, providing guidance, support and signposting.
As part of our Community Matters programme, we recently invited pupils from Mareham-le-Fen Church of England Primary School to enter a design a bedroom competition. Over 30 eager children aged four to 11 from the school entered, with many pupils creating their dream bedroom in shoe boxes, going to a considerable effort to create a themed design. The winning design will be brought to life in one of our show homes at our new development, Birkwood, in Mareham-le-Fen.
