NEW HIRE – HSG appoints new US Associate Partner. Following an extremely exciting and record-breaking 2018, HSG continues to grow as the Search firm of choice within Financial Services. HSG SEMINAR - This morning we hosted a seminar on Succession Planning – What Constitutes Good or Effective Governance. Thank you to all that attended and thank you for helping demystify those urban myths around succession planning. From the feedback provided, all participants thoroughly enjoyed the seminar and found it very worthwhile, relevant and provided additional food for thought around why succession planning is of interest, what are published expectations and what are observations of good practice. PROMOTION - We are very pleased to announce the promotion of Daniel James and Paul Merlin to the position of Partner. Having started his career in London, Daniel made the brave decision to relocate to New York in 2016 to initially develop our Asset Management proposition. In 2017 he saw the opportunity to join Antony Pitt, CEO US Wealth Management in our newly acquired WM business and has been a central part along with John Chudzik, Managing Partner in building our East Coast WM brand. Paul re-joined HSG in 2016 after running his own search firm for 6 years. Since his return he has embraced brand strength and extensive client relationships to add both energy and expertise to our UK WM business and working closely with our Europe CEO, Stephen Phipps. He is based in our London office and has an exceptional track record of delivery with his main expertise being in distribution. NEW HIRE – Continuing our global growth plans, we have a new hire this week in our Dublin office. James Sweeney joins Simon Waddington's team to help build our position as the financial services search firm of choice in Ireland, while also helping Simon to develop our banking and legal practices in Europe. James holds Master’s degrees from University College Cork and Cork Institute of Technology, and he has a professional background in political research and sales. James will bring his business and political science acumen, as well as his political research background, to bear in undertaking bespoke executive search assignments across the financial and professional services sectors in Ireland. Last week Partner and Head of US Asset Management, Michele Hanson joined forces with two organizations: Youth With a Mission and Homes of Hope and spent the week in Ensenada, Mexico with an incredible group of people working alongside a family to take them from their uninhabitable living conditions to a home. Michele comments ‘It was the most honourable work I have ever done. There is so much that we can do for others, and it involves only a fraction of our good fortune.’ Hanover Search Group is extremely proud to be supporting such worthy charities. Today Hanover Search Group is celebrating International Women’s day. We’ve been talking to our colleagues, clients and candidates and a common theme has been that for real change to happen we need to be working as men and woman together to achieve goals and a better balanced workforce, the journey can’t be achieved alone! To do this we need to stop putting limitations on ourselves as women, especially ones that aren’t even there, set goals that will stretch you, don’t be afraid to ask for help, seek out successful men and women for support and guidance on your journey. To quote Brendon Burchard “I’m not interested in your limiting beliefs, I’m interested in what makes you limitless” So come on everyone it’s time to not only “talk the talk, but walk the walk” on a journey to balance for better! NEW HIRE – We have another new hire in our London office this week! Iside Oliveti has joined our European team as an Associate and will be supporting Managing Partner, Kamila Orlando. Iside specialises predominately in the Insurance industry and her core competence lie in both the German and Italian speaking Actuarial & Risk markets. Iside is a native Italian speaker, fluent in both German and English with a University Degree in Global Business Management. She began her career with Hanover as an intern in our New York office. As an adept researcher with a passion for recruitment Iside provides first class market mapping intelligence and candidate identification and relationship management.
