HSG’S WELL-BEING PROGRAMME – Members of our London office plus two of our US colleagues were treated to our first ever well-being session last Friday. Initiated by HSG host Zofia Sharman who heads our HR practice and is HSG’s well-being ambassador, the first topic was ‘What is well-being to you?’ The session began with a presentation from healing practitioner Sara Williams where we learnt the importance of taking time for ourselves and through a simple gentle breath meditation how to settle our mind and body. We also had Fiona Pierce, Medical Herbalist who conducted a sensory activity where we enjoyed learning about the healing properties of essential oils and our favourite was the rose oil! She also shared how different ingredients in teas can help support our body function where we got to taste some too, as well as devouring the nut balls and flaxseed crackers! Our special thanks to Sara and Fiona. The whole event got a big thumbs up from the HSG executive leadership team who are all super keen to drive these sessions that support mental health and wellness in the work place.
Banking on, counting on, relying on, expecting... what exactly? A fee, a deal, commission, pay-rise, client, job, position, title, promotion? Then there's not delivering, but not on what exactly? Are any tears of disappointment shed for the above not coming into fruition or for “something else”? What if “something else” was our greatness and in missing this we replace it with “insignificance”? When caught up over "loss", "failure to deliver", “insignificance” someone asked me to consider what is all around me and something certain - I reflected on SPACE And I realised that when we don't make it about the voluminosity or expanse of space and being in it but instead caught in TIME then all we do is reduce everything to an experience of limited time (impatience, irritation, expectation, compromise) and as a result the limitation of oneself and hence one’s significance... HSG SEMINAR – Yesterday, Hanover Search Group hosted a round table discussion on the challenge of hiring and inspiring top sales performers with Tony Armour from Maclin Armour Consulting providing expert insight. Sales leaders from technology firms such as Broadridge, Colt, Global Cloud Xchange, NICE, Trusted Data Solutions, CreditSights, Web Financial Group and ICE attended. Thank you to everyone for attending and contributing in the seminar. In the current job market, the race for top sales talent is intense and sales leaders need to dial up their emotional intelligence and street smarts to win the race. HSG’S WELL-BEING PROGRAMME – Our London office are really looking forward to our first ever well-being session this Friday afternoon and the topic is: “What is well-being to you?” The programme is being hosted by Zofia Sharman - All About Relationship who heads our HR practice and is our very own HSG well-being ambassador. There will also be a guest speaker doing a presentation on your mind and body as well as a special guest conducting a sensory activity. We’re excited! These well-being sessions which will be happening at the end of each sales quarter throughout 2019 are designed to develop connection with yourself which can help support the type of relationships you have with other people in your life. Perfect for us Recruiters who work in the people-industry! We look forward to sharing more with you.
HSG EXCHANGE PROGRAMME – This week we have Ronnie Encina in our London office. Ronnie is a Managing Associate who is normally based in our LA, Torrance office. As part of the quarterly exchange programme that we run, it gives employees the opportunity to work out of our International offices. These exchange programmes are designed so the individuals can experience different environments and cultures. With having international offices it’s always difficult meeting everyone you work with so it’s always nice to be able to put a face to someone you speak to regularly via email!
With everyone getting on board with this #10yearchallenge we thought we would look back to see how much has changed for HSG... In 2009 we had just the 1 office in London and since then we have opened 7 further international offices. We were using Windows XP and work mobile phones didn’t exist. Now we have iPads, iPhones and the latest technology to keep up with the digital evolution. We have created strong long-lasting relationships with our clients and in doing so we have broadened our areas of expertise. Our headquarters in London moved into new offices and we have continued to hire some of the strongest consultants in the industry. How has your business or your career changed in 10 years? We have lots of exciting plans for 2019 and who knows what the next 10 years will bring for HSG?!
New Year, New Job? Or not quite?... thank you Zofia Sharman for another nugget for our Well-Being Vitality series! Read more here...
