Each year, we offer young adults who have completed their A levels a chance to join our retail team for an 18 month rotational training course. We caught up with Lily Lyne, one of our School Leaver delegates, to talk about her experience of the programme and what lies ahead for her after completing it. “The highlight for me has been seeing how much I've learnt in such a short period of time. My experience has been eye-opening and exciting. After the programme finishes, I hope to continue as a sales associate in Womenswear, eventually progressing into a stylist or personal shopping role."

At Harrods, we encourage our employees to develop skills outside their day to day roles, which is why we offer secondments across our departments. It’s a great opportunity to gain a global view of the business. Our Resourcing Secondment runs twice a year, and this time round employees from our restaurants, Customer Loyalty and the shop floor joined the HR team for eight weeks to experience the recruitment lifecycle. The programme culminated in an insightful presentation, giving the secondees an opportunity to share their learnings with their line managers and the Resourcing team.
Clive, Sales Associate in Millionaire Gallery, tells us why he loves being part of this eccentric department. “I’d been in technology for over 20 years, so I was apprehensive about applying to this area, but it has given me an opportunity to expand my skills like never before. It also turns out that it has one of the most exciting product ranges I've ever come across! I've learned to be much more creative in my approach to customers, and the team has a great sense of humour. All in all, a pretty fantastic experience.”
Last night, the Georgian Restaurant was transformed into an enchanted garden to host a star studded gala event, in support of the Garden Bridge Trust. Among the guests were HRH Princess Beatrice and the actress and campaigner Joanna Lumley. The inaugural fundraising event, which generated £257,000, also marked the three-year countdown to the opening of London's innovative Garden Bridge.
