Last night Key Group won the Health & Wellbeing Award at the North West Employee Engagement Group Awards! Up against over 700 other North West based businesses, not only were the team delighted to be a finalist but even more excited to win it! The award recognised companies that support the Health & Wellbeing of their colleagues, encouraging them to be healthier - both physically and mentally - and demonstrating that the integration of wellbeing programmes are integral to business performance. Health & Well-being has been a big focus for the HR Department this year, with the Well-being Week being one of many new activities we launched. The Group has been recognised for our service and success with industry recognised awards so it’s fantastic to start being recognised for the work we do on a regional level through supporting our colleagues and making Key Group a Great Place to Work.
This week is Well-being Week @ KR Group where we are holding a series of events. Yesterday we held two pensions seminars where more than 50 colleagues turned up to find out more about their pension. As you know we took part in the Sunday Times Best Companies ‘b-heard’ engagement survey in November 2018. We now have the results and we are delighted to have received a ‘One to Watch’ accreditation. This means that on a national level we have good levels of workplace engagement and with development could become one of the ‘best companies’ to work for in our region or nationally. There are areas for improvement and we are shaping our People Strategy in 2019 and beyond to ensure we focus in the right places. We intend to run this survey again towards the end of the year. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMClO
This year Key Group is launching its first annual charity day for all colleagues and we have partnered with Barnardo’s Preston enabling colleagues to leave the office for a day to assist with one of two exciting projects. Barnardo’s Preston focus on building stronger families, safer childhoods and positive futures. The two projects we will be supporting are residential homes for young people aged 16 and over who are leaving the care system and migrating into independent living. It’s a really exciting opportunity for us to get hands on with our local community and help Barnardo’s’ mission. Simon Thompson on our two new charity partnerships, said: “The activities and services provided by The Boathouse Youth and Barnardo’s are tailor-made to help break the cycle of deprivation and poverty some young people face. They work to increase aspirations, boost confidence and enhance their ability to secure employment giving them the skills and abilities to lead successful lives. These are two charities which I believe we can make a real difference to as a business."
