We are delighted to announce that we will be working with The Boathouse Youth which is a Children’s Charity based in Blackpool which provides positive recreational and educational activities for disadvantaged children and young people aged 5 – 17. They aim to break the cycle of deprivation and empower these children to become contributing members of society. More than 50% of the children the charity supports are “living below the breadline”. A complex variety of issues associated with deprivation contribute towards instability. Members may witness regular domestic violence, drug/alcohol misuse, live in poor-housing conditions, have limited access to basic services such as the dentist. The most simple of commodities are often in the shortest supply: food in the fridge, a hot drink, help with homework, a bed-time story and a clean bed. The Boathouse provides all of its services completely free of charge and rely on donations from the public and corporate partnerships – there is a waiting list to join and the support from Key Group can make a huge difference.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Charity Quiz Night at the super venue Preston Grasshoppers RFC. Congratulations to the Cave Owners who were the overall winners by 20 points!!! Lead by team captain Robert, the winning team included Richard, Niamh, Louisa, Julie and Danni. With around 80 colleagues in attendance, we raised £160 for Brian House Children's Hospice and had a fantastic evening. A huge thank you to Jenn for the superb quiz format, Helen, Cara, Claudia and Rachel for organising everything and last, but by no means least, our quiz-masters Dan and Steve for hosting.
