Last month we announced an £18M investment in our colleagues, making our largest ever pay increase for hourly paid roles. As of March 2022, our starting hourly pay rate will increase from £9.50 to £10.10 per hour outside of the M25 and from £10.85 to £11.30 per hour within the M25. We'll also increase all other hourly paid wages nationwide, to ensure that all our hourly paid colleagues benefit from this investment. It’s what our store and warehouse teams deserve as they consistently rise to every challenge we face, but this year in particular they have gone above and beyond. The festive season wasn’t the only thing to get excited about in November, as five new Lidl GB store teams opened their doors to the public in the following locations: Arnot Street (Falkirk), Christy's Lane (Shaftesbury), Hamstead (Birmingham), Roman Road (Taunton) and Sundon Road (Houghton Regis). We’d like to wish our new colleagues a warm welcome as they continue serving their local communities during one of our busiest periods!
Our Learning & Development Team Manager Dylan has been hard at work studying for his Level 5 HR Apprenticeship alongside his busy schedule. It’s great hearing positive feedback on our apprenticeships (exclusively for Lidl GB colleagues) and how they’ve helped develop our people in their roles. Fantastic job Dylan!
