🌟 Reflecting on a Powerful STOP Suicide Workshop 🌟 Last week, we had the incredible Kerry Bryant from CPSL Mind guide our Mental Health First Aid community through an impactful STOP Suicide Workshop. This session was an invaluable opportunity to enhance our knowledge and confidence in navigating conversations about suicide. Remember, while we may not always have all the answers, that one conversation could be a turning point in someone's life! Throughout the workshop, we delved into some serious facts: - 1 in 5 of us will experience suicidal thoughts in our lifetime. - Suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 45. - 3/4 of registered suicides in England and Wales in 2021 were male. - Shockingly, females 24 and under have seen the largest increase in suicide rates since data collection began in 1981. 💔 These numbers are more than statistics; they represent human lives. Let's take a moment to process and think about those around us. You never know the struggles someone may be facing. 💙 So, be kind to those around you and be brave in having tough conversations. You could be the one person that gets someone through the day. Remember, one conversation could save a life.
