I’m Aaron, General Manager (Asia Pacific) at Luno. I love talking about Bitcoin, personal finance, and finding meaning at work. 🙌 As part of Luno’s 10th birthday celebrations, we shared advice we would give our younger selves from 10 years ago. My advice is: It’s okay to have no idea what you want to do in five years. Or three. What’s important is examining yourself (occasionally) with questions like: Am I on a path that I’m proud of? 🤔 The Ikigai diagram is true. For a wonderful career, find the sweet spot between: what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs and what you can be paid for. But understand it might take decades of trying new things and self-examination before you find it. ⏳ I found my path through writing blogs (which were only read by my best friend to start with) and discovered a revolutionary asset called Bitcoin. As scary as it was, I bought some crypto and wrote about it, and a company called Luno asked if I wanted to collaborate on a webinar for my blog followers. 📽 I aligned with Luno so much that I began working there, and 5.5 years later, which brings us to the now, I'm still so proud to work in an industry I believe in with great people! 💙 If you could speak the younger you, what would you say? #Luno

As we celebrated Luno's 10th birthday, we asked Lunauts for advice they would give their younger selves ten years ago. Here's what Sophie, Head of People Communications and Culture, shared with us. 👇 "I feel most energised when our Lunauts are feeling happy and engaged at work! In the past, I tended to "play it safe" in case I rocked the boat too much, but over the years, I've learnt to say, "why not!" This new approach has rewarded me with some amazing, colourful experiences that have taken me down a completely different path. So my advice to myself 10 years ago would be: Say yes to opportunities (but not always people) because you have some amazing adventures ahead! Trust your gut; you know what you're doing. Let go of expectations and outcomes because you can only control your actions, not other people's. Have faith and believe things will work out as they are supposed to. Happy Birthday Luno! Last week Lunauts celebrated Luno's 10th Birthday together across all of our regions 🙌 It wasn't lost on us that our in-person celebrations aligned with International Friendship Day, and when we ask what makes Luno special, the response is most likely the awesome people. 💙 Engineering Director Kelly Francis summed up friendships at Luno perfectly: "There are so many Global friendships at Luno. Yesterday our Malaysian team hosted a panel discussion to celebrate and reflect on Luno's decade in crypto. Here at Luno, we take careers to new heights. In support of this, our Lunauts recently enjoyed a Squiggly careers workshop led by Sarah Ellis of Amazing If and one of the hosts of the UK's no.1 careers podcast, Squiggly Careers, which has had over 2 million downloads. 🙌 We spoke to Chelsea Ponce de Leon, Change Management Specialist, about how she found the workshop. "Squiggly careers piqued my interest as I have had a pretty squiggly career at Luno! What stands out to me in the book, and that is true for Luno, is that you can explore and move into roles without the need to follow a typical ladder. I am learning more about my strengths and look forward to squiggling into my dream role." Chelsea felt inspired to download the squiggly careers book in our self-directed learning platform, which caters for various learning styles, Learnerbly. We onboarded Learnerbly in February, and 90% of Lunauts have already taken the driving seat in their development.
