Our South African Luanuts recently celebrated youth day, and to mark the occasion, our Business Development Lead Tarris Arnold spoke at Young South Africa Leading the Future webinar. π A recent survey revealed that 25% of young South Africans felt good about the future, calling out climate, energy, and the economy as areas of concern. The webinar explores these issues and identifies workable solutions. We asked Tarris about the session and his highlights: βI thought I would be the only person waving the crypto flag, but the whole panel were excited to learn more about how this helps make the financial world more accessible to millions. The discussion was practical yet optimistic, and it was exciting to hear from a broad range of people working towards a positive impact in their industries, communities and networks. I left motivated, excited about the prospect of the future and putting the power of crypto in everyone's hands. πβ At Luno, we are not here to make a quick buck. We focus on longevity and unlocking crypto's potential we look forward to participating in similar discussions. Yesterday afternoon our Commercial Finance Director Megan Walbyoff represented Luno as a panellist at the Finance Alliance FP&A Summit. π Being a part of Luno means being responsible for upholding the highest standards for our customers, regulators and governments worldwide. Megan spoke about how high standards start with planning and the importance of mastering the art of storytelling with data. π We spoke to her about how the session went: "I enjoyed taking part in the FP&A forum. During this exciting event, our panel chatted about the importance of storytelling in modern business and how ensuring our leaders have the correct data to make the best strategic decisions is essential. A key point for me was always to ask one more question, such as, 'What does this mean for the future?' A benefit of being part of a culture that gives you the confidence to speak up and challenge." At Luno we're not here to make a quick buck. We focus on longevity and unlocking cryptos' potential. Making a positive impact in our communities and networks starts with standout financial planning and analysis. #fpasummit #finance #financeanalysis #financeplanning #cfo #Luno

At Luno, we provide ambitious people with the opportunities to take on responsibility and learn at pace, not just our Lunauts. Recently we partnered with the AAA School of Advertising and tasked students to prepare a marketing campaign for us, supporting the participants in gaining practical experience while having the courage to make bold decisions π Our judges from our Countries and Customer Support team were impressed by how much effort and detail every team put into the project. The winning team, who received R1000 in Bitcoin, linked their idea to a rewards, actions and points system, a function that fitted the brief nicely π
Earlier this week, our APAC team attended the MY Invest Fair 2023, where our General Manager Aaron Tang presented on Bitcoin as an investment, informing attendees about how to start their crypto journey with Luno, a great place to start as we are committed to upholding the highest standards for our customers, regulators, and governments worldwide. π We heard more from Aaron about the event and how he found it. βIt is always inspiring to see strong interest in Bitcoin as an investment by everyday Malaysians. And wonderful to speak face to face with them on concerns around preserving and growing their wealth. A timely reminder of how important our mission is for everyone.β At Luno, we are on a mission to put the power of crypto in everyone's hands, which will help make the financial world more accessible to millions. Our Lunauts thrive when meeting and inspiring investors and educating them on crypto's potential. β Learn more about crypto without all the hype here: https://discover.luno.com/ #Luno #InvestFair2023 #LunoMalaysia

On the 25th of April, our London Lunauts enjoyed getting stuck in at a volunteering day in Islington facilitated by The BIG Alliance π Five teams gardened, fixed roofs, chopped wood, painted, and cleaned adventure playgrounds. We were empowered to make a positive impact, given that Islington has the least green space of all the London boroughs, and these spaces are valued places for local communities to socialise. πͺ Hereβs what Kirsty Morrison had to say, βI loved being outside and doing something active. It was nice to spend time with Lunauts I havenβt seen for a while and those I hadnβt met.β To celebrate a busy yet rewarding day, the team enjoyed a pizza party afterwards, where they were energised not just by the food but by the stories of positive change they helped to deliver. π
At Luno, we see the bigger picture value in access to technology for all. As a result, we recently donated computers to various educational institutions, which will help support digital learning and computer literacy. 42 computers were delivered to schools, education centres including the Spirit Foundation and orphanages in Cape Town and Malaysia and we are thrilled to see they are already being put to good use. This donation aligns with our mission to empower individuals and communities through technology, and weβre thrilled to see the positive impact it will make within the communities where Lunauts live and work. If youβre inspired to support similar causes, we encourage you to get involved and make a difference in your own way.
Our APAC Lunauts enjoyed connecting at their most recent town hall session and welcomed visits from James (CEO) and Christian (VP International). π An evening of teamwork, honest opinions, and open debate took place, which concluded by celebrating the end of Ramadan. π APAC Lunaut Wanchi said, βAs the event coincided with Eid, we connected in the office while enjoying delicious local delights. We were also introduced to new leaders within APAC, leaving us feeling motivated and excited.β It was a fantastic opportunity to connect around Luno's focus on making the financial world more accessible to millions and to reflect on the positive impact the work our team has on communities and networks. π Thanks to everyone who attended! Here are some pictures from the event!
