Question - If we treat everyone the same then we'll reach a fair and equitable workplace? Answer - Actually no. By treating everyone the same, we maintain inequity. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, or DEI, can be a confusing topic, which is why we're sharing the Culture Amp's guide to Defining diversity, equity, and inclusion at work; https://www.cultureamp.com/blog/diversity-equity-inclusion-work This 7-minute read provides definitions of diversity, equity, and inclusion, with an overview of the impact each of these areas has on the culture of an organisation. The collaborative approach of our people is key to achieving great things at Morgan. That's why we love to see the team building and social activities of our sites, to reward our people for all of their hard work and dedication. With COVID impacting many of our face-to-face collaborations over the past few years, it's been great to see many of our teams reinstating their annual traditions safely over the last couple of months. This month with our focus on careers, we wanted to introduce you to some of our amazing people. Meet our apprentice Lauren :). Lauren works in our Group communications team and has been with Morgan for almost a year. She put herself forward for an apprenticeship at Morgan, as she wanted to learn whilst she worked. For Lauren, her passion for project management and writing was ignited whilst sudying for her A- Levels. She has really enjoyed meeting and speaking to new people at Morgan, forming plenty of useful connections across the globe. Lauren's confidence has also grown massively in the last year, as she has felt more ready to tackle new tasks, and get involved with plenty of projects. All this alongside learning how to use a multitude of design software packages too. Check out Lauren's advice for considering a role at Morgan š
Our sites are working hard to make energy and carbon savings, in pursuit of our 2030 goals to reduce our carbon emissions and water use. At our Ranipet site, the team have recently completed a pump audit across the site, identifying areas of energy efficiency improvement. As a direct result of the audit, the team have replaced the centrifugal pump for their furnace cooling circuit with an energy efficient pump and IE3 motor. This improvement alone will reduce the site's carbon emissions by 39.25 metric tonnes per annum and saves over 55,440kWh of energy each year. A great example of the sustainability improvements taking place across our global sites. Learn more about our sustainability goals.
