This International Women's Day our people showed their support to #BreakTheBias. From team building activities across Geater China, to a virtual meeting of minds across our Americas teams. With inspiring guest speakers at our Women@Morgan launch session, our Morgan family gave their time and voices in a call for action to accelerate women's equality. Thank you to our people for showing their support. #IWD2022
Investing in our people is investing in our future. At our Durham site the team have taken great initiative to set up a dedicated training room, which is accessible to all employees on site. The training options are varied ranging from project management skills to business communication and leading in the new normal. This training initiative forms a critical part of ensuring the continued development of the teams and ensuring their skilled operation runs smoothly on site. Durham's Employee Development/EH&S Lead John was the driving force behind this great training initiative, and commented: "At the Durham site we live by Richard Branson's quote 'Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to.' It underpins our approach to training and developing our people".
Sustainability is at the core of our business. In 2021 our people found more ways to reduce their environmental impact. Not only are we constantly striving to be a more sustainable business, but we help our customers do so too, this is successfully achieved through the products we design and manufacture. If you haven’t already seen our 2021 sustainability report, here are some of the key highlights from the past year. You can find the full report below.
This International Women's Day we stand with our global community, to #BreakTheBias. To support our 2030 goal of ensuring 40% of our leadership population is female, we recognise we need to do more to support, retain, and advance women in Morgan. One way in which we are looking to #BreakTheBias is through the formation of our first employee resource group Women@Morgan. Today our Women@Morgan network are hosting a number of kick-off events, both virtually and in person to raise awareness and start the conversation, now.
