At Morgan we put sustainability at the heart of what we do. Our sustainability strategy includes clear goals, which we're working towards across our business. To keep our efforts and approach transparent, our newly released 2021 Sustainability and Responsibility report highlights the progress we've made in driving our environmental, social and governance agenda at Morgan. Our CEO Pete Raby commented on our approach: “The COVID-19 era has brought the need for a sustainable future into focus. As a purpose led organisation, we strive to leave a lasting, positive impact on the world”. Celebrated since 1911, International Women’s Day (IWD), has a two-fold message that remains the same today as when it started; to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, but also to mark a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Each year IWD celebrates a theme. This year the theme centres around the need to #BreakTheBias. We recognise that we need to do more to support, retain, and advance women in Morgan and one of the ways which we are looking to #BreakTheBias is through the formation of our first employee resource group Women@Morgan. On 8 March our Women@Morgan group will be running a number of events, both virtually and in person around the world, focused on IWD. We're looking forward to sharing their activities later this month! What are you doing to #BreakTheBias this IWD? #IWD2022
Inclusion Tip #5: Don't fear mistakes We're going to leave you with our final, and most important, inclusion tip. The terminology and approach to inclusion is a much debated and ever changing landscape, but don't let this put you off. Becoming more aware and taking more inclusive actions is a process, it takes time to broaden your experiences and knowledge, to make yourself a true inclusion ally. You're bound to make mistakes along the way, so don'tbe too hard on yourself. It's better to try and fail, than not to try at all.
Inclusion Tip #4: Educate yourself You don't know what you don't know. Spending some of your time learning about the issues which impact inclusion, ways to make your approach more inclusive, and individual experiences of inclusion will help you to make proactive changes. There are many blogs, videos, websites and influencing voices to listen to on inclusion. Here are a few examples to get you started. • Blog: Your D&I: https://www.yourdandi.co.uk/blog/ • Book: The Leader's Guide to Unconscious Bias: https://www.franklincovey.com/unconscious-bias-book/ • Podcast: Inclusion Catalyst: http://inclusioncatalyst.com/ • Practical Guide: Vantage Circle - D&I in the Workplace: https://blog.vantagecircle.com/diversity-and-inclusion/
