Our sites are making positive changes to reduce waste. At our Daegu, South Korea site, the team have implemented collection and recycling of waste thermal fibres from the production processes. From woolbin and furnace dust collectors to needle looms, we are minimising material wastage throughout the processes. These additional actions have resulted in a waste reduction of approximately 4-5 tonnes per month; enabling us to make better use of the world's resources.
We want to foster an environment where every single one of our employees is empowered and confident to be their true, authentic self. Increasing the awareness of our people and marking important days in the calendar is just one of the ways that we are building an inclusive organisation. There are small changes we can all make to conserve water in our daily lives. Try turning off the tap when you brush your teeth, using your dish water to water your plants, or by running a shorter washing machine cycle. We challenge you to change your habits today and save this precious resource.
Our sites are each taking steps to tackle their own environmental impact, considering how they can improve their processes to be more sustainable. Our Luxembourg Seals and Bearings team chose to focus on their materials waste. Utilising innovative water cutting technology they have implemented changes to reduce scrap material and recycle waste water via filtration; keeping their environmental impact to a minimum. Just one example of continuous improvement for a sustainable future.
As an organisation we have been reporting our carbon footprint to the Climate Disclosure Programme (CDP) since 2010. In 2021, we were proud to be awarded a B rating by the CDP, placing us at the management level. This level is in recognition of the actions we have taken to reduce greenhouse gas emission and indicates that we have taken steps to assess environmental risks to our business, and implement actions to manage those risks. Our sustainability goals are guiding this journey and we will strive to reach these in our aspiration to be a sustainably responsible business.
