To reach our stretching environmental goals, we need to work together across our business to focus on our water, waste and energy. While we're making changes to reduce or emissions or better utilise clean energy across our global business, our sites are busy making local, impactful changes too: • Reducing waste by introducing recycling facilities for scrap metal from our production processes • Implementing a new rain water harvesting system, to help reduce the load on ground water abstraction • Stepping up our recycling efforts to prevent over 160,000lbs of cardboard & paper going to landfill at one of our largest sites
Focusing on continuous improvement enables us to delight our customers, by delivering our products even more efficiently. Our teams doubled down on their improvement efforts in 2021, delivering some fantastic savings in time, energy, and labour across their workstreams: • Halving production lead times from spot maintenance spare parts • Creating a Daily Group Accountability process to ensure focus on safety, quality & delivery • Improvements to their saw blade replacement enabling a 40% work time reduction Thank you to all of our teams for challenging and improving processes across our global sites.
Our Swansea team have made good use of their training area 'Y Dyfodol' (the Future), since it was set up earlier this year. From internal thinkSAFE refresher training to external export compliance training and Elevate training sessions, their dedicated learning and development area is certainly being utilised effectively!
With the continuation of the good performance seen so far this year we expect our full year organic constant-currency growth to be around the top end of our previous guidance range of 7-9%. This year Morgan joined the British Ceramic Confederation’s voluntary member initiative to drive forward the decarbonisation of the UK ceramics sector. The scheme will promote collaborative working and learning opportunities across the breadth of the UK ceramics industry, allowing Morgan to share and implement “here and now” changes for the net zero transition. This opportunity supports our commitment to achieve significant emissions reductions by 2030. The initiative is also a great way for us to support the UK ceramics community, through mentoring of SME members to achieve their own ESG targets. Learn more about our environmental goals below.
