🏳️🌈 Happy Pride Month 2023! At N, we’re passionate about raising open-minded children, and about building a team culture underpinned by kindness, warmth and belonging. To ensure that our team feel seen and heard within our own N community, this year one team member from each nursery has put themselves forward to become an N Rep. Our reps are the voices of our team members and work to ensure that everyone feels represented, included and heard.
As our Assistant Educator at N Defoe Road celebrates her 5th N-iversary, it's time to meet Thahera. ⭐ After completing my studies, I knew I wanted to work in childcare but craved a different approach to early years. I was searching online and soon came across N, which was a 6 month old baby at the time. From the nursery’s layout to its bespoke curriculum and rewarding team incentives, N encapsulated everything that I was looking for, and more. ⭐ I took an immediate liking to its genuine family feel. Everyone was super friendly and caring and you could see the passion and love they had for the job! And of course the children were amazing! ⭐ Today as I reach 5 years, N truly means shaping a child’s future. ⭐ For me, the most rewarding moments are watching children achieve the next steps that we have been working hard to achieve! ⭐ For anyone in early years who’s thinking about joining N I would say go for it and be prepared to be continuously learning, teaching and thriving! ✨ For more information on careers at N, visit our careers site.
An apprenticeship is never a one-size-fits-all model. At N Family Club we are mindful of each team member’s individual needs as we offer the flexibility and support to enable dreams of all sizes, no matter the age of the apprentice. In this recent interview with Nursery Management Today, our wonderful Education and Academy Director Dr Gemma Pawson discusses our approach. --- To find out more about our roles for career changers and returners, visit our Rest Less page: https://lnkd.in/eCMr9Ysi Alternatively, visit to our careers site to find out what it's like to work with us: https://lnkd.in/eNmysPUC
As a thank you to our team, we reward 5 years of service with 2 weeks additional holiday and a once-in-a-lifetime dream trip. Here, we meet Ivana, our Head of Team Support, shortly after she returned from her Round the World adventure. 🌟 After joining N as a single Admin Assistant in January 2017, I have since progressed to Head of Team Support. Right from my first conversation with the team, I believed in N’s vision and approach. N’s energy is infectious. 🌟 From the moment I first heard about the Round the World trip, awarded after five years at N, this amazing benefit has been on my mind. A number of trips were planned and scrapped until I organised this one. 🌟 For my Round the World trip, I flew from Belgrade to Athens, and then went on a cruise trip with on-shore visits at Cairo, Giza, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Limassol, Rhodes, Kusadasi and Ephesus. 🌟 Most of the places visited were intense and surreal as we were travelling through history, myths and legends but it's actually the people I met and their ways of living that I find myself thinking about now that I’m home.
Meet Chantelle, our Assistant Deputy Manager at N Hackney Downs. Here, she shares how N renewed her early years passion and details how her career has progressed since joining us in October last year. 🌟 I've been an early years educator for 16 years. In my last role, I began to reconsider if I should stay in early years. N renewed my passion and my drive, while helping me realise my potential in a leadership role. 🌟 N came up in a few job searches and once I read the roles available and the benefits package, I knew it was the company for me. 🌟 My Career progression at N has been quite astounding, if I'm honest. I joined the team as a Room Manager in October last year and was recently promoted to Assistant Deputy Manager in March. The leadership team at N Hackney Downs highlighted some of my strengths as a leader and wanted me to realise my potential and encouraged me to progress. I'm currently in the third cohort of the Deputy Manager Leadership Programme. 🌟 My favourite thing about N so far is the family feel. I have been welcomed with open arms.

Meet Shinequa, our room manager at N Brixton. Here, she shares how her career has progressed since joining us in November 2021. ⭐ Before I joined N, I had lost my motivation to be in early years full time, so I initially applied for a lunch cover position. The N team made me feel so welcome and I soon fell in love with the job all over again. ⭐ I started working extra hours to support the team, before becoming a full-time educator, then deputy room manager, and, most recently, room manager. ⭐ My favourite thing about N is the way hard work is appreciated and that there are so many opportunities to progress, whether that is through education and training or moving to higher positions. ⭐ My favourite meal from our N kitchen is the fish and chips, shoutout to our new chef at N Brixton, Abigail Patricia Smith. ⭐ At N karaoke time, I’m singing 'No Scrubs' by TLC. ⭐ Once I hit the 5-year mark, my round the world trip will take me to Maldives, Bali, Turks & Caicos. ⭐ For anyone working in early years, I would say join N if you want to develop your career.
As our Apprenticeship Manager celebrates her first N-iversary today, it's time meet Sophie. Here, she looks back on what has been a truly transformative year. ⭐ I was working as a quality manager within an apprenticeship provider and was part of a 'bid' to work with N to deliver their training. When I researched N, I was really impressed with what I read. I felt that N's organisational values and ethos were aligned with my own and that it seemed like a great place to work. So, when I later saw the Apprenticeship Manager role advertised on LinkedIn, I thought it was a sign that I had to apply. ⭐ My first impressions of N were that there was a real sense of belonging across the whole organisation and that the senior leaders truly cared about those people working for them. Today I truly feel valued and appreciated by everyone I work with and have made friends for life.
Meet Tamara, our deputy manager at N Tunbridge Wells. Here, she shares how her career has progressed since joining us just over three years ago. ⭐ After working in the Early Years industry for a decade, I wanted something different and I found that at N. It feels like home. ⭐ In my 3 and half years at N, my career has progressed from educator to room manager and now deputy manager. ⭐ In addition to the children, the environment and benefits are what makes N special! I love the culture that N brings, which is so different to any other nursery that I have been to. ⭐ Trying to achieve a work-life balance can be challenging but N has a refreshing approach to flexibility. Then, incentives like the round the world trip definitely help a keen traveller like me. Once I hit the 5-year mark, I want to visit Ghana, Bali and Jamaica.
