Lucino Sotelo has held an annual holiday season tradition with his teams over the years. He has introduced them to different communities and organizations that could use some support and help. His concept is simple; “Given the genuine spirit of the holiday season, we bond as a team by partaking in the gift of giving through the Holiday season. While it’s completely voluntary, we ask the group to consider giving their time or a gift to a child for an adopted organization, which happens to be Casa Central this year. Often, this could be the only gift this child receives during the holidays. The concept is personal, as I was also the beneficiary when I was growing up with another organization called Erie House, where I would often get the only new gift I would receive during the holiday season, so this is a way for me to pay it back with a multiplier effect as a proud leader now. To date, all the organizations we’ve selected have been with organizations I know well and have volunteered with." Lucino Sotelo - Chief Digital Officer, Wealth Management #LifeAtNT
Holidays are coming 🎄 Here are just a few examples of some of the festivities, fun and activities that we are seeing across all of our global teams and offices this week ⚓
It’s hard to believe our 2023 Manila Intern group is finishing up with us this week. This group of 13 started with us in August and will leave us this week. We wish them all the best as they return to college for their final semester and their upcoming graduation in June 2024. They all left their mark on our team, and we thank them for their energy, their approach to life at Northern Trust and for all their work while with us. ⚓ #MadeForGreater #LifeAtNT

This program is designed to support and encourage employees who commit to their personal and professional development through grants and study leave for courses that lead to a recognized qualification, from fund management to project management, compliance, data analytics, professional accountancy and many more. This year, across both of our offices in Ireland, we saw 116 employees complete their external qualifications ranging from diplomas, master’s, ACCA, MBA and more. “We believe that supporting our employee development and helping them to drive their careers is vital.
