Last week Northern Trust employees Jeremy Svejdar, David Roberts and Karla Cassar led a team of volunteers on a 24 hour, 1000 mile cycling challenge in our London office. The target was 1000 miles and they ended up completing an incredible 1114 miles in the 24 hour period. The focus of the event was to draw attention and awareness to 4 great charities: - Cure Parkinson's - Mellon Educate UK - Neighbours In Poplar - Whizz-Kidz It was a pleasure seeing some of the charity reps come in and cycle alongside our team during the event. We saw over 20 employees give up their time and join the team in the saddle, epitomizing the strong culture we have at Northern Trust. Our Manila Talent Acquisition Team together with Pol Renz Villanueva, Client Reporting Team Lead had the privilege to speak at the recent UST College of Commerce and Business Administration Career Day Industry Mixer. Last week our team in Guernsey participated in the Alternative Transport Week 2023 initiative and the results are in… They successfully reduced 111 fossil-fueled vehicle return commutes during the week along with a total 215 alternative journeys made – across bus, bike and other transport modes. Based on survey results, on average each day, 30% of our employees travelled using sustainable methods which is a marked increase versus 2022.
