Wellbeing toolkit NCC’s commitment to fostering a supportive and healthy work environment is a cornerstone of our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and is pivotal to us delivering great services. As part of this commitment, we have launched a new wellbeing toolkit. This toolkit is designed to provide valuable insights and actionable strategies to support the wellbeing of our teams. It is available for all NCC teams and is grounded in the Health and Safety Executive’s guidance tailored for corporate settings. This comprehensive resource aims to support group managers by providing the tools needed to assess and improve the wellbeing of their staff. We are encouraging all group managers to use this resource to identify and implement targeted improvements for both individual and team wellbeing, and to support improved attendance and delivery.
Disability Confident Leader Did you know Nottinghamshire County Council is a Disability Confident Leader and we are pleased to have three established colleague networks. We believe that good networks should provide a safe space for discussion of issues, help to raise awareness of issues within the wider organisation, provide support for individual staff and offer a collective voice to communicate with management. Early Careers Network (ECN) We will soon be launching our Early Careers Network (ECN), a new staff network created by and for employees in the early stages of their careers. This includes (but isn’t limited to) apprentices, graduates, entry-level staff, those new to local government, and colleagues transitioning into new roles. Our mission is to make Nottinghamshire County Council a place where early career professionals feel empowered, supported, and inspired to excel. Our priorities include: Professional development – build skills, confidence, and career pathways Wellbeing support – promote work-life balance and mental health Social and networking – connect with peers across the organisation Influencing – give early careers professionals a voice that future proofs our organisation We’re committed to creating a network that’s visible, inclusive, and sustainable.
Support for neurodivergent colleagues and managers The Council’s ASCH Equality, diversity and Inclusion (EDI) programme has brought colleagues together from across various NCC departments to develop tools and resources in relation to support neurodivergent staff, their colleagues and managers. Tools and resources have been developed with the support of the Neurodivergent Peer Support network through the ND Quest. They aim to help to raise awareness of neurodiversity, support conversations between managers and their team members, help people to better understand their needs and provide colleagues with resources on how to support their neurodivergent colleagues.
