ENTRY TO EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AT THE COUNCIL Did you know that we have several programmes that support individuals to develop their skills, gain valuable work experience and start their careers? These programmes focus on those who are at risk of economic activity and may need a bit more support as they begin their careers. There is a huge pool of untapped talent just waiting to start work. We provide opportunities through the following programmes: SEND INTERNSHIP These internships are for young people (16 to 24 year-olds) with special educational needs or disability (SEND) and are delivered collaboratively with education providers. The young people are enrolled on an education programme designed to support them into work but spend a large percentage of their time with an employer. APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME The council’s Apprenticeship Programme is specifically designed to offer opportunities for people to develop their skills and gain a qualification. We have had some fantastic apprentices on this programme since it started in 2017 – many of whom are still with us and thriving in their careers.
Employee ICT Awareness Sessions We offer ICT awareness sessions to all our staff to support them in using the modern technologies and features available within the Microsoft 365 suite. Most of the sessions range from 45 to 120 minutes and are ideal for employees who would like to learn more, or new starters who need guidance in the technology being offered at Nottinghamshire County Council. These sessions are aimed at a smaller audience to give a more focused experience with open interaction.
LGBTQ+ Staff Network newsletter We regularly publish an LGBTQ+ Staff Network newsletter, which includes news and information on a number of varied, upcoming events taking place throughout each month.
