Message from Councillor Richard Butler This council, that serves all of our residents in Nottinghamshire in so many ways, does its great work thanks to each and every member of our staff, whatever their job titles and roles. I and all other County councillors truly recognise and appreciate what you do and understand fully about the many and varied challenges that we face. Very often, we take where we live for granted and in a large county like Nottinghamshire, it is possible that there are some areas that you don’t know about or rarely visit. One thing that I have found, especially this year as I visit individuals, businesses, communities and groups across the county, is that there is nearly always a new discovery and often discover that Nottinghamshire County Council has had various roles in providing services and facilities and doing its best for those residents and communities. Christmas, of course, is a time when we think of our family and friends, near and far, remembering those who we are no longer able to see, whether that is for sad reasons, or simply that they might be a long way away. Christmas is also a time to take time to reflect – think back and look ahead to the future. Whatever your plans for Christmas, I wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas and my best wishes for the New Year.
