A team of flight test crew and engineering specialists from QinetiQ, Rotary Wing Test and Evaluation Squadron, have delivered unprecedented rotary wing capability. Working alongside engineers from the Royal Navy, the exercise supported Defence Equipment & Support, the Commando Helicopter Force and UK Commando Force in aid of the UK’s Littoral Response Groups. A wide variety of testing was conducted over two weeks, gathering valuable data which can be exploited to uplift capabilities to many different ship classes. We are very pleased to share that Anthony Booth, a QinetiQ colleague from the UK, will be taking part in the #InvictusGames this September, competing in the archery, sitting volleyball, and wheelchair basketball events. Anthony joined QinetiQ in 2019 after being medically discharged from the Royal Air Force after 30 years of service. Throughout his career, he was deployed to the Falkland Islands, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Australia and the USA. These operational tours caused him several musculoskeletal injuries and mental health conditions such as PTSD, which still affect him now. Today, Anthony is hosting a Webinar to update colleagues on his training plan and preparation for the games, and to also share his approach to living with physical and mental health conditions and how he manages his wellbeing. As an employer committed to supporting veterans, reservists and family members of those in the armed forces working in QinetiQ, we are incredibly proud of what Anthony has achieved and we look forward to following his journey and watching him compete in September.
