Committed to being a responsible and sustainable business, we enable our people to participate in and make a positive difference to the communities where we live and work. We do this through our Employee Volunteering Programmes and through our Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) outreach programmes, providing our people with the opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. Ryan, a Senior Project Manager based at Portsdown Technology Park, has been volunteering his efforts through our STEM Outreach programme, running enrichment sessions with his colleague Meera at a local school in Portsmouth. To find out more about Ryan's experience, visit our website. #LifeatQinetiQ
At QinetiQ diversity and inclusion is a vital part of our employee offering. The creation of a workplace and culture where everyone can be authentic, feel valued and realise their full potential is a priority. Sunday 2 April 2023 marked World Autism Awareness Day. Neurodivergent individuals, such as those with autism, can have extraordinary skill-sets and yet often struggle to fit the common profiles sought by employers. Adjustments relating to autism are often very specific to the individual, because the range, severity and scope of the traits can vary so much, but there are a number of changes that we can all implement to make an autism friendly workplace. Head to our website for further information and to find out seven ways we can all support creating an autism friendly and inclusive workplace.
As we continue to find ways to support the safety and wellbeing of our people, we have recently partnered with YuLife, a reward app, to incentivise our people to get more active throughout their working week. Through the YuLife app, our people have access to 24/7 UK-based GPs (via telephone or video call), online health assessments, access to nutrition consultations, and a free will-writing service. They can also earn YuCoin, the in-app currency for walking, cycling and mindfulness, which can be exchanged for vouchers from retail brands including M&S, Nike, and ASOS. To find out what our colleagues have been enjoying about YuLife, read the article on our website http://ow.ly/7Axg50Nv1sk #LifeatQinetiQ
