This week we have our Global Employee Roadshows for October 2023, a series of virtual events that enable us to listen and engage with our people across the world. Led by Steve Wadey, our Group CEO, we have been talking about what we have achieved so far this year, our focus for the future and how we will continue to invest in our people and our company. Having the opportunity to share information and celebrate the amazing work done by our people is so important as we continue work together to deliver for our customers. #LifeatQinetiQ
Have you met Nemo? Nemo is a thermally instrumented manikin, the only unit of his kind in Europe. Used to test all sorts of diving and sea survival equipment, so our customers know how to best protect a diver in a cold water environment. Find out more about Nemo, the Experimental Diving Tank and all the other fantastic facilities used for Underwater Test & Evaluation at our Haslar site here: https://ow.ly/w93Q50PSULM #underwatertesting #diving #testandevaluation #seasurvival #maritime #AUKUS
This year, we had the pleasure of exhibiting for the very first time at New Scientist Live, an award-winning festival of ideas and discoveries for everyone curious about science and why it matters. Our presence provided an opportunity for us to engage with and inspire young minds, encouraging them to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). QinetiQ is proud to have collaborated with Sonardyne International Ltd at the annual Robotic Experimentation Prototyping Augmented by Maritime Unmanned Systems Exercise 2023 (REPMUS), held off the coast of Portugal during September to bring the latest technologies to modernise Test & Evaluation. This event was attended by a wide spectrum of Naval Forces and supporting industries, to explore the use of emerging technology. During the trial we demonstrated a deployable underwater tracking range (DUWTR), which tracked multiple unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) that were participating as part of the underwater initiative, integrating the data through QinetiQ’s Quasar command and control software. With an innovative deployment method and delivery of quality data, this new capability received positive attention from the REPMUS participants. #REPMUS23 #MaritimeUmannedSystems #Defence #DUWTR #UUV #Underwatertechnology #Innovationtechnologies
