Our Visual Merchandising team in Selfridges Birmingham recently lead a Christmas decorating extravaganza for 3 hospitals over a week last month and we could not be more proud of their efforts. VM recruited over 30 volunteers from across the store and set out on a mission to bring those festive feelings to patients and staff members of the Birmingham Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital and the new Oncology and Rare Diseases House in Birmingham. To help our teams deliver the extraordinary, they recycled props and dressings from previous schemes as well as receiving donations of old stock from a local prop company, to really help bring the magic of Christmas to life. Great work team!
As much as we love the store and feel energised by its spirit, we do often crave a bit of quiet time. A moment to chill and recharge. Introducing our gorgeous new Wellbeing Room for team members in Selfridges London. Features of the room include iPads with access to the Headspace app, a kettle with a selection of herbal teas to choose from, books on mindfulness (many of which have been donated by our own team members) and plenty of scented candles to complete the calming ambience that the room provides.
We want to wish Antoine a huge congratulations on successfully completing our Accelerate to Department Manager programme as he starts his new role as Department Manager in womenswear in London. We love a success story!
We have a wonderful community of wellness enthusiasts within Selfridges called The Wellbeings, who do lots of great work to ensure our team members are healthy and happy in and out of work. A couple of weeks ago, Welcome to Wellbeing arrived in Selfridges Birmingham with a jam-packed agenda full of wellness activities planned for all of our team members there. Ladies and gentlemen, Santa has arrived! He's going to be in store every day until 24th December and with this year's rock'n'roll theme, he's set to be more surprising, amazing and amusing than ever before. Not only are we excited to welcome him back, 'Santa’s rock ‘n’ roll parade' officially landed in Selfridges London at the weekend and it's a must-see this Christmas. He will be performing this daily until 23rd December, so make sure you're in store at 4PM on the weekends, and 7PM on weeknights to experience this spectacular show.
