โAs a Senior Software Engineer, a big part of my role is developing new functionalities that make the lives of our customers, Partners and employees easier. Iโve recently worked on two exciting projects: Autonotes and the Customer Video Assistant. AutoNotes helps our advisors by creating accurate call notes quickly and using recorded call transcripts to generate summaries. Customer Video Assistant allows customers to share a video live, helping with real-time problem-solving and diagnosis. One of the biggest highlights of my time at UW was when we won โTech Team of the Yearโ at the National Tech Awards. I was fortunate enough to attend the awards ceremony, and it was an incredible experience, celebrating our team's hard work and innovation. In my spare time, I attend church with my family and occasionally preach, though I'm a bit rusty. I love going to the gym and started running with my wife in 2023. Last Christmas, we participated in a 5km and a 7.5-mile trail race, where I dressed as the Grinch and my wife as an elf. Despite the UK's weather, we love exploring the outdoors, countryside, and beaches. I really enjoy doing a bit of โextraโ work. I was once in a Bollywood movie called "Salaam-e-Ishq" (you can see me for a whole half a second ). โAs Head of Engagement for our UW Partners, every member of my team works together to support Partners in various ways โ from developing training content to creating phenomenal Partner events and most importantly, working directly with Partners so they can help more people stop wasting time and money. One of the things I love about my job is that no two days are ever the same. One day, I could be hosting an incentive event for Team Purple. The next, I could be in strategic planning meetings or planning our next big company event. Thereโs never a dull moment! One of my biggest highlights since working with UW has to be when we won Growth Company of the Year at the Shares Magazine Awards. I was lucky enough to attend the ceremony and see the jubilation on everyone's faces! In my spare time, I like to bury myself in a good book. Iโm also a big foodie, and I love eating out. So I can indulge, I try to balance it out with some exercise. Saturday mornings are the best because they involve two of my favourite things - Yoga and Zumba. I have a very close family, with two teenagers who still love spending time with their Mum. My best memories are travelling with them, introducing them to new cultures, sampling local cuisines, and watching foreign-language films. My time at UW so far has been nothing short of fantastic, and our Partner opportunity makes us truly unique. Ai-Leng is our Head of Partner Engagement and has been with UW for 4 years ๐
They grow up so fastโฆ Our Selkirk Hub have just celebrated their one-year anniversary ๐ฅณ And what a year it has been! This tight-knit team have achieved so much in such a short space of time โ most importantly, massively improving the experience for our prepayment energy customers โก Other highlights include: ๐Quickly growing to a team of 70 becoming a key employer in the Scottish Borders area. ๐Hosting โCafe Sessionsโ in the office with live music from local musicians. ๐Partnering with Borders College to support the next generation of Customer Service professionals. ๐An endless number of brilliant events organised by the Selkirk Engagement Team, including: charity days, games nights, national day celebrations and recognition awards. When it comes to delivering progress and working together, Selkirk certainly leads by example. We canโt wait to see what you achieve in year two ๐ #WeAreUW

Nearly 60 UW LGBTQ+ employees and allies got together to mark the start of Pride Month with a bang ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ At UW, Belonging Groups are employee-led communities that bring us together for moments that matter. Our Pride Belonging Group organised this fantastic celebration for their third event. The fabulous drag artist Crayola joined us at our Farringdom Hub for an unforgettable drag bingo session, sparking laughter and important conversations about Pride Month and the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community ๐ Thanks to everyone's generosity and the UW Foundation matching contributions, the event raised over ยฃ700 for two trans charities ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ #WeAreUW
Talking culture, heritage and jollof rice with Chef and Author Maria Bradford ๐ Our African-Caribbean belonging group recently held the first of their โLet's Talkโ sessions, with the aim to showcase the voices of prominent African and Caribbean people within our communities. It was an inspiring afternoon for all who attended, and later this month, Maria will even be sharing her culinary talents in a virtual cooking class for our employees - we canโt wait! ๐งโ๐ณ #WeAreUW

โAs the Marketing Manager for our brilliant UW Cashback Card, most of my days are spent championing the brilliant savings our customers can make by shopping at big brands like IKEA, Aldi and M&S. Life as a marketeer is exciting; we look at customer data and feedback to create initiatives to make our customerโs experience of the product even better. Alongside my day-to-day duties, I also co-lead the Pride Network here at UW, a group of colleagues striving for LGBTQ inclusivity and visibility in the workplace. Since helping set up the Pride Network, I have focused on organising events that engage and educate other colleagues. To celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month in February, we held a Drag Diversity and Inclusion workshop hosted by the brilliant drag performer Crayola. One of the best things about working at UW is the people. Every voice matters, and everyone plays a role in our mission to stop customers from wasting time and money. We work hard and fast, but we have lots of fun along the way. In my spare time, I love to exercise. Iโm a bit of a gym bunny right now and a keen runner (I ran the London Marathon last year). I also love to travel, especially to US cities, as they always have such a fun buzz. Chicago is my favourite so far! In 2019, I spent a year living in Madrid, practising my Spanish and working as an English teacher. I loved it; it felt like I was having my own talk show!
