Spending time with our colleagues is really important to us at Which?. With all our teams working remotely, we recently gave them the opportunity to connect with each other and disconnect from work. Like many across the nation, we're all pretty quizzed-out, so our Member and Supporter Engagement team decided on a virtual Ready Steady Cook.
Halloween wasn't quite the same this year but that didn't stop our Bristol and Cardiff teams from having fun by hosting a virtual Halloween competition - complete with their scariest halloween costumes (pets included!) and baking the spookiest cupcakes.
Last month, to celebrate Black History Month, we hosted a Let's Talk internal event. The theme was Black history, and the panel shared updates on current projects and fielded questions ranging from their thoughts on representation of Black history in the curriculum to advice for parents wanting to teach their children more about the subject. #blackhistorymonth
Spending time with our colleagues is really important to us at Which? and, with all our team members working remotely at the moment, we wanted to give our teams the opportunity to connect with each other and disconnect from work. So a couple of weeks ago we took the phones off the hook and vetoed all meetings so that our teams could do just that.
When lockdown started in March Which? moved 70 colleagues from our Members Service Centre in Cardiff to remote working. Clayton Meyer, Lead Operations Manager said âThis was a mammoth task for us and our IT teams. Our first priority was to ensure our members could still contact us and ensuring our colleagues were not under pressure.â
As part of our Black History Month celebrations, we spoke with Which? Council trustee Dorothy Burwell, who is responsible for supporting the governance of the Consumers' Association, ensuring we meet our charitable objectives and focus on consumers’ interests, as well as our regulatory obligations.
We've started celebrating Christmas a bit early at Which? 🎄Each year, we get to test a wide range of Christmas foods and drink to make sure people know where to buy the best – it's a pretty great job. Of course, this year we've had to do things a bit differently.
We’re delighted to announce that our first Values Sharer of the Year is Conor Bannister.
We Care and We are Connected are two of our five values at Which?. And once again it was evident to the recognition panel from all the Values Sharer nominations received over the past 12 months that there are individuals who live our values and make an outstanding effort to help and support each other. This year the shortlist for our Colleague Champion Award, presented in memory of a colleague in our Legal Services team, consisted of five individuals: Jamie Coker, Matthew David, Natalie Powell, Jessica Staff and Nyla Thomas. We would like to say a huge congratulations to Natalie Powell for being crowned our Colleague Champion.
Our Which? employees are passionate about delivering positive impact for consumers. It was clear to the recognition panel from all the Values Sharer nominations received over the past 12 months that there are many unsung heroes in the business that are making this impact and being nominated for doing so on a consistent basis. This year our shortlist consisted of four individuals: Munro Page, Laura McCrystal, Harry Tattersall Smith and George Martin. We’re pleased to announce that our Consumer Champion this year is Munro Page. Congratulations Munro!
