I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (Dublin, Dublin) in Feb 2014
Interview
Initial application is through self videos supported by their site, where you answer some questions and talk about yourself. The next step is an informal meeting in which you meet other applicants. Talk about yourself to the others and the you are divided in groups where with some managers and you'll play a role play in which you have to answer the phone and help some customers with problems. Then there is a one-to-one interview with another manager and a final one very informal. The place is informal (a house) and stacked of food ;) If you pass this, you are asked to talk to someone from the San Francisco HQ who is not strictly related to the position you are applying for. To me it was more of a chat with a PR guy working in San Francisco. If you reached this point, I can say you're in ;)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Nothing unexpected. Just prepare yourself looking on how the business work, like how to solve basic problems and help customers.
I applied online, and it took about two weeks to get my first interview. The entire interview process felt casual, friendly, and honestly quite enjoyable overall.
1. Screening Interview with HR
They asked about my previous experience and why I was interested in a customer experience role. There was also a Q&A session about the position itself, along with a role-play exercise based on a real customer support scenario.
2. Interview with the Hiring Manager
After passing the first stage, I completed an online assessment. The hiring manager interview focused more on practical customer support situations and role-play exercises involving real-case scenarios.
3. Final Interview
The final round mainly focused on core values, culture fit, and my passion for the role.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (Singapore) in Jan 2019
Interview
It was a pretty straightforward and fun experience.
1. Video interview (recording)
2. Photo interview
3. Hiring meetup (similar to an assessment centre)
4. Core value interview
I did not pass the Hiring Meetup, probably because I was too honest about my intention that I might not stay in the customer experience team for very long period (3-5 years).
