The process took 1 day. I interviewed at American Express in May 2012
Interview
I was interviewed by a (apparently) VERY busy HR person. He spoke so fast that I had to close my eyes to concentrate on his questions. As is typical, it seemed as if he was going down a checklist putting Xs in boxes. He asked me about one previous employment experience twice. He wasn't rude, but he wasn't at all engaging. They must be hiring like crazy judging from my experience with him.
He invited me to double back with him in a week if I hadn't heard anything. I did and got no response. Then, later that day I received an email from Amex advising me that there was a job on their web site for which I qualified. The title was the same as the one I'd applied for. When I clicked on the link it took me to the site to tell that the job was filled the day after I interviewed. Really? Was I just filler so someone could say they interviewed X number of people?

First, it's a phone interview from HR recruiter. Then followed by F2F Interview by hiring manager and another manager.
Second interview is a few role plays with the decision maker. May ask about what make Amex different.

F2F Interview

Round 2
5. Role Play
6. What is our value preposition.
Easy and straightforward. I had to act very corporate and the questions where somewhat basic. No questions that were complicated or misleading. Several people where on the interview panel. I would recommend if you are looking for a corporate easy straightforward job. Might be soul crushing but you get payed well for it.
