I recently had applied for an Executive Administration position at Arcadis, where I underwent two rounds of interviews - one virtual and one in-person - with a panel consisting of three interviewers, i.e EAs and a team lead. I also completed an assessment. The interviews seemed to go well, with the panels appearing positive.
However, I was surprised to find that there was no HR screening round to verify my experience or other credentials. Throughout the process, I found the HR department to be unresponsive. The HR representative only contacted me to schedule calendar interview invites and, on one occasion, to inquire about my previous salary after the two rounds of interviews.
I had to make multiple follow-up calls, but it wasn't until the HR representative informed me that I had been shortlisted that I received any update. I was asked to submit documents, which I did promptly on the same day.
Overall, the entire process after submitting the documents felt unusual and unprofessional from the HR department's perspective. Throughout the process, I lacked clarity on whether I would receive an offer even after follow ups. I believe it would have been courteous for the HR department to communicate with me if they were not moving forward with my candidacy. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
