      Human Factors Engineer Interview

      1 Aug 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Round Lake, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Baxter (Round Lake, IL) in Nov 2013

      Interview

The manager of the open position interviewed me over the phone initially asking about a whole assortment of achievements and activities that showed my capability for success in the past. I was then brought into an on sight interview consisting of a rotation of 4 one-on-one interviews that lasted about 4 hours in total. All the interviewers were friendly and interested in my past experiences that I presented to them. I wasn't expected to know too much about Human Factors as a recent college graduate with a different engineering major. They were more interested in my ability to learn on the job and proof that I create high quality work. I was asked to complete a FMEA on a specific biomedical device based off its instruction manual. It was a rather low pressure experience (for an interview at least) and I ended up getting hired within a couple weeks.
