I applied online. I interviewed at British Airways

      Interview

So after applying online I got invited to an assessment day. When I got there, I found waterside to be a lovely place, it’s extremely easy to get to if you are parked/arrived at Heathrow, I got a taxi however there is also a shuttle bus. When you get there, you are asked to fill out a form on whether you have tattoos, piercings etc. It’s important that you chat to the other people who are there on the day, however do not be over powering and it’s perfectly ok just to talk to the people who are nearest to you. I’d reccomend not being on your phone the whole time and not sitting there in silence! Do not be put off going to this interview if you’re older or feel you wouldn’t necessarily suit the role in terms of looks/appearance/weight. They really seemed non discriminatory in that way. You’ll then be called in for a height and reach test, (really easy I found), however if you’re under 5’2, it’s probably not worth going because I’ve heard that people get sent home for being too short, however I don’t think this happened when I went. After this, we were shown a short presentation on the company. Then the assessment started properly. You may get it in the reverse order however the first thing for me was the group exercise. Now, here I think a certain amount of luck is involved as all of my group were lovely. You’ll be given a task and do bear in mind it is not about getting the right answer it is about how you communicate with others. It’s important to not be over the top, but also not be too quiet. My group worked really well together despite there being a real mix of ages in there. After this, you have a one on one role play. The first part is easy, it is just reading out a short piece of writing, almost like the introduction of a website, I didn’t find there to be too many difficult words so it should be ok. Then the assessor will act as an angry/dissapointed customer. My advice is to remain polite, and once you’ve offered a solution, to ask whether that is okay or not, making sure the customer is fully satisfied. After this, comes the elimination part of the day. All I can describe it like is like the boot camp stage of X factor where you’re waiting to see who’s going to judges houses. Of around 40 people who were there I’d say 25 went home. These tended to be the people who were either too loud or too quiet. Fourtnunatley, I got through to the interview. The questions they ask seem to be standard interview questions however I think this is what let me down as I was an absolute bag of nerves in there. I unfortunately didn’t get offered a job but I did enjoy the process and I will be going back in 6 months. By the way, you don’t have to go dressed as Cabin Crew to get through. Look smart yes, but don’t be over the top!

      Interview

I applied on January for the cabin crew talent pool (Heathrow), received an email 4 months later to complete the online assessment, I'm now waiting for their response. The assessment was fairly easy, you just have to remember their company values.

      Interview

Submit application on website, attach cv. Once accepted, complete the online assessment within 3 days of receiving the invite. (Maybe Psychometric style and situational judgment) British Airways do change the assessment types so bare in mind.

Given random scenarios with a choice of most effective answer to select. The assessment has nothing to do with the job role or the actual airline.

Starts with a group of about 25 people, then have to do a height and reach test accompanied by reading out a script to one of the interviewers to prove your english speech.
