      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CDW (Mettawa, IL) in Jan 2015

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter who took some time to go over my expectations and get to know me. He then set up a phone interview with himself about a week later. At the conclusion of the phone interview, he requested to set up a face-to-face interview with a Hiring Manager, which I gladly accepted. On the date of my face-to-face interview, the recruiter met me at reception and spent a few minutes making sure I didn't have any questions or concerns before the interview, followed by a brief tour of the building and some of the benefits of working for CDW. After the tour, I sat down with the Hiring Manager for roughly an hour, during which he conducted a "behavioral" interview. It seemed like he was more interested in having a conversation and getting to know me and my personality than he was in reviewing my Resume, yet again. All in all, a very refreshing and seemingly effective process!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Describe an instance in which you went above and beyond the call of your job or performed a task that was not specifically expected of you.

      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CDW (Tampa, FL)

      Interview

I had a friend currently working there and really sold it to me. He then sent me a 'refer a friend' email where I sent in my resume and took a pre-employment personality type test (to see if your choices and beliefs match the company's values). Next was a phone interview and face to face interview with a regional sales director and direct sales account manager

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

All very behavioral questions. For example "describe a time you yourself or a coworker made a mistake at work and what you did to resolve the issue for the customer?"

Applied online through indeed.com. Was contacted by the HR department the following day. I interviewed with the hiring manager the following day and was hired. Extremely easy interview. Scenario based questions. Nothing hard at all. Just tell them your really competitive and you love money and you will probably get the job.

      Corporate Account Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at CDW (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2015

      Interview

There were a few short phone interviews where I did personality testing and other interviews. After two phone interviews they brought me in for an in person interview. The in person interview had my eventual hiring manager and a sales coach in on it - they ran through my resume in front of me, asked about previous experiences, situational questions. The experience was overall not difficult, but I relied heavily on previous experiences where I had worked with customers and had to calm them down if something had gone poorly in the course of my business. The main thing to keep in mind is that your job will be developing relationships with customers - remember to tailor your information to this end and you will do fine.
