      Consultant Interview

      20 Jun 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Capco (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

Interviewed for Senior BA position. Clearly indicated salary range. Went through 2 rounds of interviews with Managing principal and principal consultant. The recruiter comes back and mentions about case interview to judge if I am suited for BSA or BA position. The recruiter lowballed me and mentioned we can only provide a salary of the consultant level (lower than my current level). Pretty clear my resume didn't stand out for a BSA. Gave a highly technical case interview. Terrible experience. Note: If you cannot meet the salary demands of the candidate please don't proceed and waste precious hours of candidates

Our priority is always to provide an outstanding candidate experience. We have a thorough interview process whereby candidates are assessed by a number of people from the business, as well as through case studies, to ensure that employees are hired at the correct level and set up for success. Sometimes during the assessment process, we determine that a candidate is a better fit for a more junior or senior role, which also impacts the compensation offered. We take this process very seriously and we are always appreciative of the time and preparation candidates put into our interview process.

      Interview

Positive My interview process with Capco was one of the most welcoming and respectful experiences I’ve had in consulting. Every person I met was friendly, genuine, and intentional about creating a comfortable environment. There were no “gotcha” or trick questions — the conversations were straightforward, fair, and focused on understanding my experience. I appreciated that they gave me time to think, ask for clarity, and speak openly without feeling judged. There was no sense of elitism or ego from anyone on the panel. Compared to other firms I’ve interviewed with, Capco’s culture felt noticeably more positive and grounded. I left the interview feeling respected, valued, and confident that my background and experiences were truly appreciated.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Capco (London, England) in Apr 2026

      Interview

Interview process was fairly smooth, mostly verbal questions and no live coding/coding exercises. Overall a nice experience. Some issues after accepting the offer however, they then took 3 weeks to get back in contact with me. The response was that the role was no longer needed and i may get hired as a "culpability" role. Within 24 hours this was then changed to their is a role after all. This part was rather stressful.
