I applied for different job, recruiter convinced me that GM was a better growth opportunity. Recruiter left shortly after hiring me. Area Manager did 1:1 interview, general questions and I knew a ton about company. Offered position, negotiated extra cash, did training, opened 2 locations and then got placed as GM - as applied for.
