The only communication I ever had with Diageo during the recruitment process was the initial automated email confirmation of my application. I’ve never received a follow up.
Instead, I kept logging into the portal every week to check whether something changed due to the lack of communication. Approx. 6 weeks after the application deadline closed, I received a Mystery Shopper email asking me about my experience of the recruitment process.
Surprised as my application was still ‘under review’ I checked the portal again to see that now the status changed to ‘unsuccessful’.
I really hope that this happened due to a technical error in Diageo's candidates system not firing off another automated email. Otherwise I would have to conclude that this was the most offensive negligent application response via Mystery Shopper I have ever experienced.
@Diageo you don’t give the opportunity to contact your HR department, hence I hope this message reaches you to check whether this happened to more applicants.
