      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Eventbrite (Cork) in Nov 2019

      Interview

I interviewed in Eventbrite Cork in November 2019. The 1st step was a first phone screening with the manager and an CX associate, they ask you some behavioural questions as well as why you have interest to work for eventbrite. The 2nd round is a two hour on-site interview with five people: 2 managers, one member of the team , a junior account manager and the recruiter. The managers were super nice and they made you feel very relaxed. They conducted the interview as a formal chat with me about my work experience , what I do on my spare time etc . Then I interviewed with the junior account manager , this interview was way shorter and it didn't even last 10 mim. she just had a list of questions on her computer about how would you interact within a team ,to test if you would be a good fit with the team. She just read each question and wrote down my answers without even looking at me. The last interview was with the recruiter by Skype ,she asked me a couple of questions as well as my availability and expectations . In my case as one of the interviewers- one of the team members was out sick - I had to finish the interview earlier than expected,so the recruiter told me that she was gonna email one of the managers and he would come to the room and walked me out . I waited on the room for 25 min and no one came !... So I left to the reception desk but no one was there and there wasn't a ring bell either to contact someone,... I had to leave without signing .out Afer all, the experience that I had interviewing with eventbrite was quite bitter...

Thanks for your review. We do our best to ensure candidates have a positive experience and I am sorry to hear your experience interviewing at Eventbrite wasn't like that. I'll share this feedback with the local team to understand what happened and how we can avoid situations like this in the future. Tania Perez - EU Recruitment Manager

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Eventbrite (Nashville, TN) in Jan 2020

      Interview

Not even a day after I applied online, I received their at-home test which consisted of 3 or more situations where you had to reply to a simulated email and play the role of the position you were interviewing for. This required you to use the website to learn about their event packages and basic math. This took longer than the 20 minutes they suggested it would. A week later I received word about scheduling a phone interview which included about a 10 minute test where you they simulated situations and you played the role of Customer Experience Representative. This was nerve-racking because they expect you to have spent time learning how their system works without any training whatsoever. The tests simply take time going through the website and learning as much as you can about how the job functions beforehand. Not even a few days later I was asked to schedule an in-person interview at the office with 4 different employees lasting about 2 hours. That interview was about a week after that. The office seemed a little unorganized checking me in and out and the interview schedule they had sent me in advance changed the day of. I ended up only speaking with 3 different people and they all asked the same questions and then answered mine. Everyone made me feel comfortable for the most part. Leaving the office was uncomfortable and they didn’t want to answer my question about when I would hear back from them (I guess that was a giveaway that I wasn’t going to get the job). I waited almost 2 weeks before I emailed them asking about whether or not I got the job and the same day someone called me to let me know that I had been denied for the position. They tried to make it a positive situation by saying they will keep my application on record because I was up against many suitable candidates and they enjoyed getting to know me. I definitely think that’s just a front so the company is viewed positively, but at least they tried to be nice I guess...

      Interview

Everyone was incredibly kind throughout the process, and while I didn't get the job, I gained a massive appreciation for the company and the work they do. After submitting my application, I filled out a brief assessment to test basic math skills and a simulated support response email. From there, I had a phone interview with one manager for about a half-hour and an in-person interview with four members of the team for a little under two hours. It's a long but fair process, and doing your research while maintaining a positive attitude will get you a long way.
