Interview
Called me about 10 minutes after they said they would, very nervous 10 minutes staring at my phone. The woman was friendly. The interview was opened by her asking me if I had any questions which threw me off guard. I asked what the work culture was like. She did not understand what I meant by 'work culture', so I rephrased. I then asked about the rota, just to have something to ask. She proceeded to ask me if I had any more questions two more times, but I'd already used up the only two questions I could think of, so felt a bit useless. Definitely make a long list of potential questions to ask! I wasn't asked the standard 'tell me about yourself question'. My memory is a bit hazy on the questions they asked, but I do remember that she said: 'What do you know about us/why do you want to work for us?' and a question that I didn't answer well was: 'how you would support an underperforming member of the team?' The feedback said I showed enthusiasm and knew about the company but didn't sell my relevant past experiences well enough.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am so sorry you weren't called at the agreed time, I know the team work hard to ensure they call when stated, but unfortunately unforeseen circumstances prevent them from doing so on very rare occasions. I am sorry you were left feeling useless at being asked if you had any questions multiple times. This isn't our intention; we genuinely want to ensure candidates are given the opportunity to ask as many(or as few) questions as they want to and don't want anyone to feel they have been left with unanswered questions.
Thank you for your interest in Explore Learning, and all the best for the future!
