I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Gartner in Feb 2019
Interview
I had 4 Interviews in total, 2 with HR and 2 with Leaders of Account Executives.
One of the leaders and the 2 HR employees couldn't figure out that there is sales which is different to what they do at Gartner.
Only the second executive I spoke to really tried to understand what I currently do and how I could bring a benefit to the company.
The 2 interviews with HR were via phone, the ones with the Sales Leaders were video conference.
In the end after the whole process I got a simple mail from their HR system telling me that they didn't chose me. There was no response when I asked for additional feedback.

Tell us about a sales process where you were successful and what did you do
They have reached out to me for a job every year and I have interviewed with them 2 times and have never made it past the 1st interview. Confused why a recruiter reaches out to me anymore?
It was long and rigorous, often feeling extremely high pressure, with not a lot of constructive criticism. There are 5 rounds and each with a role-play. It's safe to say this is not an easy interview process. I'm not sure how they do their prospecting, but I was apparently a 'great fit' for the role - didn't show that enthusiasm during our calls.
Intensive - multiple rounds led by a recruiter. Expect 2 rounds of role play, around 4 rounds total. 2 with a recruiter, one with a lead skills expert and another panel with VPs and hiring managers.
