I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GitHub in May 2016
Interview
Submitted online application, contacted same day to set up short video interview with another trainer. Interview went really well as it was just a get to know you type session. I was told that next steps would be doing some questions/test but I obviously did not pass the 30 minute interview. I just received a template email back from recruiter who was located in Seattle that they decided to purse another candidate after "reviewing each answer I submitted to the questions I completed" and to thank me for taking the time to complete the "gist". First of all I never completed any type of questionnaire or "gist", only short get to know you video conferencing interview where interviewer asked general questions about myself and I asked questions about the company. No notes were taken and no formalized questions were asked. It is demoralizing to get an impersonal email back from a recruiter with completely wrong information. She could have at least referenced the job title I interviewed for. Why bother sending emails back at all if recruiters cannot send the correct information? Seems like you need new recruiters Github.
