Applied Online, had an initial 30min phone interview with a person from HR. The interview was pleasant and we were both happy with continuing to the next step which was a codility coding test. I dont the test on the same day. It consisted of 4 questions (3 problems in a language you choose and 1 in SQL). After doing the test I got a score of 100% and I was offered a 1 hour technical call with a senior software engineer in the company. I waited another 4 days until I was in contact with the senior software engineer.
Here is where things took a turn, the interviewer that I was talking to had almost no English, when I was talking to him I constantly had to ask him to repeat his questions, as he was talking he constantly made "ehhhh" and "emmmmm" noises. He took no regard of the coding test I did and that I got all questions correct, instead he asked a lot of weird and unnecessary questions about java which most people wouldnt know. Then he went through "typical work scenarios" where he would talk about something that happens in work such a bug or problem and how I would go about fixing it. Which is fair enough, except he has almost no English and I can barely understand or comprehend what he was trying to ask (constant "emmms and "ummmm" didnt help either).
Needless to say, I didn't perform well at this stage, but instead of telling me that I was unsuccessful the original HR decided not to reply to me at all. I sent him an email asking if he could let me know if they will be moving forward with the application but I had no reply.
Maybe next time ask a more competent person to perform a technical interview or at least one who speaks english....
