      Account Manager Interview

      6 Mar 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at HubSpot

      Interview

You can tell HubSpot is scaling fast, as this is relayed through every step of the interview process (quick phone conversations, quick interviews, rapid fire). Having a pure Start up background, I was comfortable with this atmosphere. If you want any type of interview at HubSpot, you need to be persistant, otherwise they will forget about you since they tell you in the interview that you are a dime a dozen. When I arrived, Managers and recruiters were practically sprinting around trying to get as many candidates in and out the door as possible. I went in for my interview and had 15 quick minutes to meet with one of the Managers who clearly did not read over my resume before I walked in. I found this out since in my current role, I talk about money all day while negotiating contracts, helping people sell and having very conflictive conversations about the value vs. cheaper solutions, yet this only clicked with the manager half way through when she said, "ok- you're comfortable talking about money, that's good". It was clear that I was comfortable talking about money- I am in Sales after all. My resume clearly outlined I had nearly doubled my quota two consecutive years in a row. Then she asked me to teach her how to do something without drawing or using my hands - really? I felt like I was interviewing for a lead in a Hollywood movie or for a Sorority- judge a book by it's cover to make sure they are HubSpotty and then dive into their background if they make the cut. I almost felt like if I had gone to the interview in orange face paint- I would have stood out. Seeing I have been other places where they are fighting for me because I am at the top of my class, they surely are missing out on cream of the crop candidates. I would recommend that they review resumes before meeting with people that take time out of their day to meet them, since I spent 8 hours studying the company and putting together a special resume with a HubSpot theme, that the manager never opened.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HubSpot (Las Vegas, NV) in Oct 2025

      Interview

The initial screening interview was fine — they just asked common “tell me about a time when…” scenarios, and the interviewer was friendly. The second interview is a one-hour, two-part role play (chat and phone call). They have hundreds of knowledge base articles, but you have no idea what scenario to prepare for, so it’s pretty difficult to do well unless you spend hours every day prepping. If you do manage to get past this portion, you still have 3–4 more interviews before receiving an offer.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot in Aug 2025

      Interview

Terrible. Recruiter gave me questions to prepare for with the hiring manager and then none of those questions were asked having me feel unprepared. Also gave me ridiculous feedback about not answering a question exactly to their liking as to why they passed on me. Said I did well otherwise, but applied again and immediately got declined. Joke of a company and recruiting team.

      Account Manager Interview

      10 Jul 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin)

      Interview

I had a first-round interview for a sales role, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The recruiter did not seem well-prepared for the conversation — their English level made communication difficult, and they weren’t able to clearly explain the role or speak about the company in an engaging way. As a candidate, I came in genuinely excited about the opportunity and had done a lot of preparation. However, the conversation felt surface-level and unstructured, and it didn’t give me a clear view of what working at the company would be like.out of the interaction. I hope the process improves, especia I would have preferred a written Q&A or even a chatbot to get more value lly for a company that positions itself around great customer and user experiences.

      Question 1

General questions about background, motivation for the role and company.
