I applied through university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Johnson & Johnson (Newark, NJ) in Jan 2010
Interview
Submitted my resume through university career center. Got called for an interview process in Atlanta. Lodged in Loews hotel where everything was paid for by them. (Enjoyed the tv in the bathroom. yeah extra tv). Eventually had a 1-1 interview. there were many students who had been selected from the previous process. Interview was mainly about leadership skills and what I would do as a leader in different cases. They are heavy on high GPA(I had above 3.5/4.0) and leadership concepts.
The interview went well.
PROs:
After interning there, I would say the people are very nice. Their perks are awesome. Got two free days and was paid on those days.
CONs:
I wanted to do some sort of software development but the IT intern role was all about just working with Excel and Shared Point.
It was a very average interview, not too dificult. One round with hiring manager, She was polite, asked fairly simple questions. Did a second round interview but no offer after that.
Did a HireVue screening the questions focused mainly on motivation, background, and what drew you to the position. It was to confirm basic fit rather than test technical skills and was a way to better filter candidates.
On-demand interview in March: I need to record my responses to 3 questions, and for each question, I have 2 attempts. There is no time limit between attempts, so it is possible to take as much time as needed to prepare.
