I moved within the company and I was contemplating about transferring to another department because the department I was in was undergoing some major changes. It was chaotic and workloads were heavy. Within an hour of posting my application, I received a call from the manager for an interview appointment in 3 days. The entire interview took an hour. The interviewer was very thorough going over my the details of my skill set, knowledge, and experience with my former departments within the company. At the end of the interview, she said she needed to think about who she would like to choose and deliberate with senior leadership over the next 2 days. She shared with me that there were 11 other applicants who interviewed, but she will choose the candidate who had not only the most skills, knowledge, and good interpersonal skills, but the one who would be more stable and committed in the position, not someone who wanted to job hop to get their foot in the door for a specific location.

Met with the director and went through my resume and skills and he told me about the department. The interview was very informal and I was told I would hear something by the following Friday. I heard nothing for another 2 weeks after that with a generic email stating they chose someone that more closely matched the job description although he said I had 80% of what they were looking for.
