I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Macy's in Oct 2011
Interview
I applied online in early October then I got an email back a few days later to schedule myself for an interview. The next open interview time was 10 days later on October 20th at 5:00pm. I arrived late due to transportation issues but luckily for me there was no one in the office when I showed up! I had to wait about 15-20 minutes for the women who interview me to show up but it didn't bother me any. By the time I left the interview there were about 6 girls outside waiting to be interviewed!
The lady who interviewed me was very nice and welcoming she told me in the middle of the interview that she loved me and I interviewed well. She especially loved my answer to why Macys. She asked about 10-12 questions and she wrote my answers down. Some of the questions are the ones that show up everywhere on this website such as"
Why Macy's?,Tell me about a time when you witnessed a co-worker or classmate doing something unethical etc and some ones that I haven't seen mentioned before such as, How would you celebrate (The C in Celebrate is specific in Magic which is important to Macy's) a sell with a customer? I left the interview with a positive attitude but also kind of cautious since a lot of people on this website got hired on the spot. A couple of days later before Macy's even opened I got basically the automated "thanks but no thanks" email which shocked me! I was so confused as to what could have happened. Then on November 2nd I get a phone call from the Human Resources Manager at the location I interviewed at to offer me the position in Jewelery/Fashion Accessories.
I did a walk-in job interview during the hiring job fair. I applied for the job on their computer kiosk. Then they put me in for an interview on the same day.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Houston, TX) in Dec 2025
Interview
Answer first question starting with One recorded video and then followed up with multiple recorded responses to additional questions. Pretty simple and straightforward. Dress up on the top and wear whatever on the bottom.
Was an easy phone interview that only took a couple of minutes. I was only asked maybe 3 questions at most. Questions were sales experience, job history, and what I can work
